UAE Launches First Sovereign Mobility Cloud to Propel Autonomous Transport

The United Arab Emirates has unveiled its first Sovereign Mobility Cloud at the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s autonomous mobility strategy.

A Strategic Leap in Autonomous Mobility

The Sovereign Mobility Cloud is a collaborative initiative between Space42, Core42, and Microsoft, designed to accelerate the deployment of autonomous mobility solutions while ensuring that all data remains securely hosted within the UAE and governed under national regulations.

Enabled by Core42’s Sovereign Public Cloud and powered by Microsoft Azure, the platform establishes a secure digital infrastructure for next-generation transportation. It will support high-definition mapping, telematics, fleet operations, traffic management, and digital twins, creating a trusted environment for collaboration among government, industry, and research institutions.

Enhancing Data Sovereignty and Security

The Sovereign Mobility Cloud is designed to provide a sovereign-enabled platform for intelligent transport. At its core, the cloud offers trusted infrastructure for mobility data and autonomous systems, facilitating secure data sharing across government, industry, and research stakeholders. This initiative ensures that all mobility data remains within the UAE, adhering to national data residency and compliance standards.

Advancing Autonomous Mobility Ecosystem

Autonomous mobility in the UAE is already progressing, with Space42’s TXAI service logging nearly 600,000 kilometers of driverless operation and 20,000 passenger trips without incident. Building on that record, the Sovereign Mobility Cloud will strengthen the ecosystem through partnerships with regulators, global automotive firms, and academic institutions, ensuring safety, compliance, and scalability.

The initiative will also establish reference deployments, regulatory sandboxes, and test hubs with UAE transport authorities, while engaging global automotive, technology, and academic partners to scale the ecosystem.
